Javier Sansó, full ahead to the Vendeé Globe 2016
Javier Sanso (AKA Bubi) has over 25 years dedicated to the sailing competition and has extensive experience in ocean racing, has crossed the Atlantic more than thirty times, has sailed racing round the world three times and has participated twice in most extreme race in the planet the VENDEE GLOBE.
He has being first skipper to solo circumnavigate the world with an ecoefficient IMOCA60 the: ACCIONA100%EcoPowered, for this milestone, unparalleled, he counted on a great TEAM
“Only a select few human beings have been fortunate to participate in this race, the “Everest” of sailing competition. Spanish only two, one Jose Luis Ugarte the oldest sailor who finished the race, whom here I offer a respectful remembrance. The VG is an epic race for their features, round the world solo, aboard a 60 footer boat, nonstop, without outside support, passing by the most raging waters of the planet. A test for just over three months puts the limit of human endurance capacity, the resilience of the material, after two participations I got a goal, sail the VG again at the highest of the levels ”
The Race
The Vendee Globe round the world solo and nonstop, is the race of the races, the toughest sporting event that a sailor could ever afford. Great physical, psychological and technical preparations are necessary to embark on this crazy adventure…. but quoting and old adage, “the more crazy adventure the wiser sailor”.
The race will start at the port of Les Sables d´Olonne, French Brittany, November 2016. Only a select few will be on the starting line, willing to risk his life, of these, just a handful will complete the circumnavigation, and only one will rise with the victory after nearly three months of fierce fighting against the elements.
We are working to launch the IMOCA again and we´ll see how Bubi is leaving Les Sables dÓlone again.
